Don’t judge a book by its cover! From the outside, this place may not look fancy, but the food is absolutely outstanding. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience. One side of the building is like a convenience store, complete with beer. Next, there’s a soup bar with about ten different homemade soups. I tried the chowder – oh my, it was delicious! Then there’s an area that boasts 32 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream. They even have their own brand of salad dressings. But let’s talk about the food! The thin-crust pizza here is in my top 4, and I’m quite the pizza connoisseur. Their menu is massive. Every time someone else’s order was delivered to a nearby table, you’d hear people saying, “Maybe I should’ve ordered that!” because every dish looked way above and beyond. I highly recommend checking out their menu online. We’ve had their pizza, grilled Reuben, grilled club, onion rings, spaghetti, and garlic bread (not your typical garlic bread, it’s divine). It’s always bustling with customers because the food is simply phenomenal, but they’ve got a great team of wait staff, and they’re even expanding. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.

Don’t let the exterior fool you; when you step inside, it’s a different world – clean, cozy, and welcoming. The atmosphere here is like a mix of a mom-and-pop Mexican store, but not the typical rundown kind. Don’t be afraid to walk into a place that doesn’t look like you’ll like it – the food here is fantastic, and the prices are on point. I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying their jalapeño popper pizza three nights in a row because it’s THAT good. And since it was also playing on my mind, I’m stopping there on my way back to Lake Placid at 3:30 AM! They have a variety of other pizza options too, and each one is tempting. I did manage to tear myself away from the pizza to try their Philly cheesesteak, and it was absolutely amazing. I’m so glad I gave it a shot!

I couldn’t resist having the Jalapeño Popper Pizza three nights in a row because it was just that good! And it was also featured in this game I play. So, on our way back home to Lake Placid, we’re making a pit stop at 3:30 PM. There are plenty of pizza options to choose from, and the jalapeño poppers were absolutely addictive! I highly recommend giving them a try. We also tried two medium pizzas with medium crust – it was fantastic. I love that you can choose the thickness of your pizza, and the medium crust was just right. Their pizza dough is something special, incredibly good. Next time, we’ll go for the thick crust just to see how it holds up.

Time for the definitive Market 27 review! This place is the best casual restaurant in Highlands County, hands down. I’ve been here countless times over the years, and most of the pictures you’ll see are mine. It’s privately owned, and I live just two minutes away. It’s practically a second home for my car! Let’s dive in for a detailed tour. Note that this is going to be an extensive review, so buckle up for the ride. Location: It’s on Route 27 southbound, a minute or so after you cross the Highlands County line. The entire front is adorned with a stunning mural painted by one of the talented artists from Lake Placid. You can’t miss it! Hours: This is your go-to spot for both lunch and dinner. They’re open seven days a week. While they do have a limited breakfast menu, it’s not the main attraction here. Parking: Hey, it’s Florida! Parking can be a bit tricky when the snowbirds flock in.

We made a pit stop here while riding the Heritage Trail, and boy, was it cyclist-friendly! The place was super clean, both indoors and at the outdoor tables. We enjoyed iced coffee, a cinnamon roll (my buddy was so taken with it that he refused to share!), and one of their sausage breakfast sandwiches. The service was fast and friendly, even though we were dripping with sweat from our trail ride. Thanks for the hospitality!
